Frequently Asked Questions
-
What types of activities do students do?During sessions, lessons are presented along with guided practice in related skills by the instructors. In a math session, a new concept will be presented with solution strategies, along with completed sample problems, and then guided individual practice by students. Then students will be assigned homework for additional practice that will be graded when the students return it. Earlier assignments are reviewed after grading with students. Through the grading and feedback process, we make sure the students are excelling with each skill or concept as it is taught.

What materials do tutoring students need to bring to the tutoring center? All necessary materials are provided including their Shining Mindz issued notebook each week. We provide a school satchel for each new student to keep their materials in! We also encourage students to bring school laptops or digital devices.
